Composer, Percussionist, and Educator Ivan Trevino returns to the podcast to update us on life since his previous appearance in 2017, including his family, teaching full-time at UT-Austin, and his composition project for Eastman (02:20), his current composing influences and experiences teaching composition (15:50), issues he ran into during the first 18 months of the pandemic as well as writing for non-percussion-specific genres (36:10), and goes for another round of the Random Ass Questions, including IDE issues, the upcoming Men’s Soccer World Cup, his San Antonio Spurs, and basketball coach Becky Hammon (44:10).
